is committed to safeguarding personal information and ensuring that donor privacy is protected. “Personal Information” is information that identifies you personally.   Personal information collected may include name, address, telephone number and e-mail address, giving information, information on events attended, publications received and special requests for information.

• When you contact us with a question via email, in person, by phone or email, we may then collect your name, address and email in order to respond to that question. 
• We may collect your name, email address and other contact information if you register for an event.
• We may collect your name, email address, telephone number and payment information when you become a member,  make a contribution, either on our website or by mailing in a check.
• We may collect your location, age and demographic data when  you message us or visit our Facebook page or our website.
• We may collect  your name and Zip-Code when you visit any of the museums campus buildings.

The above list provides a sample of personal information that may be collected . From time to time, we may collect personal information from you in ways not described above. 

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

• We will not sell, trade, or share mailing lists, email addresses or telephone numbers with anyone else.
• We will not send you mailings on behalf of other organizations.
• We will collect payment information, billing address and other information necessary to process a payment. 
• We will use your information to comply with the law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the requirements of law or comply with legal process served on us, protect and defend our rights or act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of others. 
• We will use the personal information to protect against potential fraud. If you use a credit or debit card on the website, we may use card authorization and fraud screening services to verify that your card information and address matches the information that you supplied to us and that the card being used has not been reported lost or stolen.
• By visiting the Berlin and Coos County Historical Society or attending an event  you consent to photography, audio recording, video recording and its release,  publication exhibition, or reproduction to be used for security, promotional purposes, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by the Berlin and Coos County Historical Society  and its representatives. You release  its volunteers, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication and use of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or audio recordings, and you waive all rights to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use of these materials. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by BCCHS or the person or entity designated to do so by the BCCHS.

You have the right to review information that we have collected about you.  Unless a Member requests otherwise (please write or call us) information collected from  Members is used for purposes of sending membership mailings, including announcements about upcoming  events, and fund-raising purposes.  To review that information or to opt out of sharing this information  please contact us in writing at:
