The Berlin & Coos County Historical Society had the good fortune of having Turner Couture choose the area between the two Brown Company Barns for his Eagle Scout Project. Turner and fellow Boy Scouts with the help of a group of adult leaders and volunteers cleared the area of stones and brush, graded and seeded it, therefore enabling a mower to keep it groomed. He helped erect a wall around the new state historic marker, depicting the first permanent residence in Berlin. Turner completed the required one hundred hours for the badge. Thank you Turner and all those volunteers and Scouts who helped beautify the area.
